Empowering kids to care, share, and make a difference.
At Seymour Food 2 Kids, our mission is to empower youth to fight hunger in our community by providing weekend food bags and maintaining snack closets in local schools. We are proud to currently support all Seymour Schools as well as one elementary school in Oxford.
Seymour Food 2 Kids began with a simple wish from a kindergartener who wanted to help feed her classmates in need. Inspired by that moment, and with the support of our community, we launched a program in 2024 to provide weekend food bags and stock snack closets in Seymour schools. By 2025, we proudly expanded to include one elementary school in Oxford, extending our reach to even more children!

Nov 4, 2025: Thank You To Our Amazing Volunteers!

What a night! Thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers, we packed 350 bags to help ensure local kids and families have what they need. It was a full house — and it’s because of your time, energy, and heart that we’re able to keep doing this important work. 💛

This week, in celebration of World Kindness Week, we also took a moment to read a book about kindness and handed out certificates to our amazing volunteers. It was a special reminder that the work we do together isn’t just about food — it’s about community, compassion, and caring for one another. Our volunteers truly are the kindest!

As many are talking about the growing uncertainty around food insecurity in the months ahead, we want our community to know: we’re preparing. Tonight, we packed extra bags so schools have them on hand for any child who may need support.
If your family could use a little help, please reach out directly to your child’s school. They can connect you with the resources available.

🛒 Want to help? We’re working to keep our shelves stocked for the rest of the school year — and every dollar makes a difference. Together, we can make sure no child goes hungry.

Providing food to families is so much more than filling a plate—it’s fueling hope, opportunity, and a brighter future. When children and families have access to nutritious meals, they can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. Alleviating food insecurity eases stress and worry, bringing peace and stability to households and supporting overall well-being.
When hunger is addressed at the family level, children can focus on learning, attending school regularly, and building the skills they need to succeed. Each meal provided is an investment in breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering families to flourish. By supporting access to food, we are not only nourishing bodies—we are nurturing dreams, strengthening communities, and shaping a healthier, brighter future for all.
