Driven by youth. Strengthened by community.
From a simple idea to a community-wide movement.
Community Food 2 Kids began as Seymour Food 2 Kids with a simple goal: making sure children in our community had access to nutritious food when they needed it most.
What started as a youth-inspired effort has grown into a community-wide mission supported by schools, volunteers, businesses, and generous neighbors. As our reach expanded, we became Community Food 2 Kids—a name that reflects the many communities, partnerships, and people who make our work possible.
While our name has grown, our mission remains the same: Ensuring children have the food they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
Helping children beyond the school day
For many children, school meals provide important nutrition during the week. But weekends can create challenges for families facing food insecurity.
Through our weekend food bag program and school-based initiatives, we help bridge that gap by providing nutritious food and support to children throughout our community.
Our community makes this possible
Every food bag packed, every donation given, and every hour volunteered helps make a difference.
Together, we are building a stronger community where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Fighting Childhood Hunger – One Weekend at a Time
For many children, school breakfast and lunch are their most reliable meals. But weekends can be different.
Community Food 2 Kids helps bridge that gap by providing nutritious, easy-to-prepare food that children can take home each Friday.
Weekend Food Bags
Each week, schools confidentially identify students who would benefit from our program. Food bags are discreetly delivered through school staff, ensuring every child receives support with dignity and care.
School Snack Closets
Learning is hard when you’re hungry.
We partner with local schools and community organizations to stock snack closets with healthy grab-and-go options, helping students stay focused throughout the school day.
Community Partnerships
As community needs grow, so do we. Through strong partnerships with schools, volunteers, local businesses, and supporters, we’re able to expand our reach and serve more children each year.
